Batala College is one of the most prestigious institute running by Guru Nanak Welfare & Charitable Society, far from the Madding- Crowd surrounded by natural environment situated at a distance of 7 km. from Batala on Batala- Fatehgarh Churian Road, Bullowal established in the year 2015 recognised by National Council For Teacher Education, Jaipur and affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
As the institute is very near to city Batala, it is one of the oldest cities of Punjab. It is about a century older than Amritsar and preserves the history in its architecture and monuments. The city is very famous for its main attractions for tourists i.e. Jal Mahal, Hazira, Palace of Maharaja Sher Singh, Achleshwar Dham, Gurdwara Khand Sahib and Kali Dwara Mandir. Guru Nanak Dev ji, the founder of the Sikh religion was married here to smt (bibi) Sulakhni, the daughter of Mul chand Chauhan in 1485. Furthermore, the places where the founder Guru Nanak Dev ji stayed are preserved as memories and sacred layouts. S. Bikramjit Singh Bath, Founder & Chairman of the Institute is a hard working and God- Fearing personality and the institute excellently organized and nurtured by his own personal efforts. The college has multi-storey building which consists of well lighted, well ventilated, and fully furnished classrooms, Administrative office, Rich Library, Well Equipped Labs, Multipurpose Hall & Well furnished Canteen for students with excellent facilities. The college offers two year B.Ed. course for a strength of 100 students, also recognized for various degree courses i.e. B.A., B.Sc.( Eco.), B.C.A., D.C.A., Diploma in Cosmetology affiliated to GNDU, Amritsar.
The College is privileged to have a team of dedicated teachers who make all sorts of possible efforts to see the teaching and learning goes simultaneously. Keeping in mind the need for all round development of students, cultural programmes are organized in the college from time to time and students are also given the opportunity to participate in youth festival organized by GNDU, Amritsar. Working with the community is the regular feature of the college to create more awareness among the students regarding social evils prevailing in the society.
